Our History

Vijayanagara Vivekananda Education Society started in the year 1990. Two great visionaries, Sri Hanumanthappa Sir and Smt. Nagarathna Madam, established the institution with their simple humbleness to provide qualitative education to all the needy and to support teachers seeking jobs.

Establishment of "Priyadarshini Hindi Vidya Mandira"

The duo's dream began with the opening of "Priyadarshini Hindi Vidya Mandira" in M.C. Layout, Vijayanagara, where their daughter, Kum. Kusuma B.H, started 'Dakshin Bharath Hindi' classes for the local children. The children enjoyed learning and earning certificates of recognition by passing various Dakshin Bharath Hindi exams.

Establishment of "Vijayanagara Vivekananda Kannada Primary and High School"

• The success of "Priyadarshini Hindi Vidya Mandira" motivated the duo to establish "Vijayanagara Vivekananda Education Society," officially registered in 1989-90.
• They established the Vijayanagara Vivekananda Kannada Primary School in 1989-90, with permission from the Department of Primary and Secondary Education, Govt. of Karnataka. This school attracted children from across Vijayanagara and earned accolades in sports, cultural activities, and academic exams, leading to the establishment of the High School in Kannada medium in 1993.
• The management is now running grant-in-aid Kannada Primary and High Schools. Students from all over the state now join "Vijayanagara Vivekananda School," considering it one of the premier institutions in Karnataka.
